[5:24] <texly> are you kidding me, in javascript?! that is awesome!
[5:27] <texly> are the patches for rhino being accepted into the main tree, those patches are crucial for the whole community as a whole, not just for helma
[5:29] <texly> i love javascript, and this is sweet
[6:05] <zumbrunn> texly: did you just discover Helma?
[6:10] <texly> yap
[6:11] <zumbrunn> ok :-)
[6:13] <zumbrunn> I'm very interested, how helma newbies experience the first minutes/hours/days of learning about Helma
[6:14] <zumbrunn> If you have any advice/critisism that you can share, please don't hesitate to do so
[6:14] <zumbrunn> here or on the mailing list
[6:15] <zumbrunn> what's your background? (which tools are you currently using to build web apps?)
[6:22] <texly> i've been doing asp.net for a long time and now tinkering with ror & turbogears, in the process i just thought that it would be awesome to have a web framework in JavaScript, bam, first google result and i am here
[6:35] <texly> is there another demo app like antville?
[6:37] <zumbrunn> have you seen the http://dev.helma.org/Wiki/Related+Projects/ page?
[6:42] <texly> great link
[11:29] <woolster> hi
[11:30] <woolster> anyone home :-)
[11:31] <woolster> just looking for a valiation example, where do you put validation code, in the hac file and how to you return all the errors to the form - any examples ?
[11:35] <woolster> i suppose if i put it in the hac file, i'll end up with the same validations repeated for create and update
[14:38] <Pupnik> hi
[14:38] <Pupnik> would helma apps be interesting for internet tablets like the nokia 770 / 800?
[14:39] <Pupnik> the maemo platform could use more pim / calendar etc style apps
[14:39] <Pupnik> and the google model looks like an interesting option
[14:40] <Pupnik> it's an important platform to help get mobile users away from microsoft
[14:41] <Pupnik> currently the 770 has opera 8 browser
[14:41] <Pupnik> you can see screenshots of stuff i'm porting here http://pupnik.de
[14:41] <Pupnik> the PalmOS emu is there to help build a bridge to more proprietary apps
[14:41] <Pupnik> but we could really use more web-centric apps on the device
[17:18] * Pupnik ponders
[17:19] <Pupnik> well i'm working on native apps... if you have tablet-related web apps to share, stop by #maemo
[17:19] <Pupnik> cheers
