2009-01-20:

[13:47] <jirkap> hey there, I have some questions.. in HelmaTools code it is clear that you extend any HopObject with inspector by calling /inspector in URL. But is it possible not to call it through URL and have it present every time any HopObject gets loaded?
[13:48] <jirkap> What I actually want to do is to create some kind of an info tool which would be present in /modules folder. It should be present for any URL (some bar at the top of page), even for actions. But I do not want to call it from the app itself, just add it as a repository and thats it..
[13:49] <jirkap> Is that possible?
[16:57] <simono> funny, I work on smth similar to HelmaTools and would like to introspect HelmaPrototypes _macros and _actions. I'm trying to get a hold of the java-public-methods and am not sure if this is possible withouth changing some methods to publich?
[17:28] <jirkap> also, one more: the rhino debugger does not work, I did rhino.debug = true in app.properties for various apps, restarted everything and it just does nothing... does anyone know why? I am on windows
[17:55] <zumbrunn_> jirkap, if you would define an onResponse function on the HopObject prototype and call the inspector code inside that function, wouldn't that give you the functionality you were looking for?
[17:58] <zumbrunn_> hi jirkap
[17:58] <zumbrunn_> I just missed you before
[17:58] <jirkap> zumbrunn: hi, well, I was trying with onRequest..
[17:58] <zumbrunn_> http://helma.zumbrunn.com/hopbot/
[17:59] <jirkap> I just read it
[18:18] <jirkap> zumbrunn: I guess this will work :) What about the debugger issue, any ideas what I might be doing wrong?
[18:19] <zumbrunn_> I don't have windows handy to test right now
[18:19] <zumbrunn_> but I can't think of anything you might be doing wrong
[18:21] <zumbrunn_> how does one run java stuff on windows these days, anyway?
[18:21] <zumbrunn_> I do have a windows xp I can start up in a virtual machine
[18:22] <zumbrunn_> but there is no java on it currently, I assume
[18:24] <jirkap> if you mean from my point of view, I just downloaded jre.. BUT I do not know anything about java.. I downloaded the original Rhino debug package from mozilla none of the two .jar files included in the package did not start up.
[18:37] <jirkap> But don't worry about it, I can always get a linux if I really need it (though I don't know anything about it either) :)
